Today we visited Yorktown, Jamestown and Williamsburg. Our knowledge of Colonial times has been both refreshed and expanded. Tomorrow we head home.

Today we took a quick trip to Washington, D.C. There was so much to see that I feel like we only scratched the surface, but it was a great day and well worth the trip.

Last night a big storm blew in, and the weather was still a little stormy today, so we decided to visit the Virginia Aquarium.

Spring Break Day Three
Today we spent the day walking around Virgina Beach and swimming at our hotel pool. It was a beautiful day in the 80s, but the winds were so strong that we didn't spend too much time on the beach.

Spring Break Day Two.
Our first stop was Fort Raleigh. This is the site of England's first New World settlement from 1584-1590. The site also preserves Native American culture from the area and a historic site from the Civil War.
This was the birth place of Virginia Dare. She was the first child born to English parents in the New World.

Our next stop was Cape Hatteras National Seashore. We weren't able to take the time to drive the entire seashore, but we visited the Bodie Island Lighthouse and drove along a nice stretch of the beach.

We figured the girls had their share of educational experiences for the day so we stopped along the Outer Banks and played on the beach. This is where our shell collecting began.
Today we drove East across North Carolina to the Outer Banks. We visited another 3 National Parks along the way and spent a little time playing on the beach. We had a great time in North Carolina and enjoyed some beautiful weather. After a full day, we headed North to Virginia Beach where we will spend the rest of the week.
