October 1, 2011

I had gone to bed way too late the night before and of course the girls were up bright and early this morning.  I talked them into taking my phone to play games in their room (this never usually works because they want me up with them).  Here is a picture Ellary took of Shila while they were playing dress-up.  A nice casual outfit for 6:00 a.m.
We had a very busy day today.  We headed over to the Scarecrow Festival at 10:00 a.m. for a little fall fun.

Ellary and Shila decorating pumpkins.

More crafts...

Keaton was asleep when we got there, but she decided to wake up and take in a few sites.

Of course we had to do the face painting.  They have the best free face painting every year.

There was also a petting zoo.

And, the girls planted flowers.

After the Scarecrow Festival, Adam went to the dentist, and I took the girls home for some lunch and a rest.

That evening we headed up to Cumming, Georgia for our 3rd annual Light the Night walk.  We usually do this walk downtown, but this year we changed it up and walked in Cumming.

Shila fell right out of the starting gate and was also over tired by the the time the walk started.  I ended doing the entire walk with Shila in the Ergo and Keaton in my arms.  Thankfully Ellary fell asleep in the stroller.  Two was my limit.  What I really needed was a double Ergo.

September 30, 2011

Today Ellary ran the Eagle Run to raise money for her school.  I volunteered to hand out popsicles to the kids after the race and then we stayed after for storytime in Ellary's class.

Getting her shirt marked at the checkpoint.  Ellary finished all 30 laps (keep in mind they are not a standard lap).

Ellary and I had stayed the night at our friends the Gieger's house in San Diego, California.  Ellary is giving new baby Bree a big hug.  That morning I used one of Rema's pregnancy tests and I found out I was pregnant with Shila.  I had taken a test a few days earlier at home, and gotten a very very light positive result, but it was still a little early to be certain.

Happy Birthday Shannon!!!

Shannon was the first friend I made when I moved to Los Angeles and we hit it off right away.  We have been in each other lives for break-ups and marriages, births and deaths, happiness and heartbreak.  I really value the friendship that we developed over the years.  Shannon always brings fun and energy into everything she does.  She has been a loyal and caring friend.  Our lives couldn't have gone in more opposite directions, me becoming a stay at home mom living in Georgia and her living in Los Angeles and running her very successful company Glam Glow, but, no matter what happens, we can still talk and catch up like no time has gone by.  I am so proud of Shannon for all that she has done and been through since we met.  She is an amazing woman.  Happy Birthday Shannon.  I hope you enjoy your breakfast in Paris and dinner in London.  I have to say I am very jealous of your current travel schedule!!!  Love you!
