April 16, 2011

Today Jayden, his mommy and sister came over for a visit during the late morning and Adam came home mid afternoon.  Adam took the girls out for a bit after he got back so I could try to rest.  I didn't get any sleep, but I was able to stay off my feet for awhile.

Shila's "dress up" outfit this morning.

Little Miss had some swagger today in this outfit she threw together.  She walked around shaking her hips and  acting like a teenager all morning.

Speaking of acting like a teenager...  We were in the car today, listening to Justin Bieber of course, and she asked me to turn up the volume (which she always does).  I told her I could hear it fine so that means she can too (the volume is set to the rear speakers only).  She says to me... "it needs to be louder because my ears are much smaller than yours."  HA!

This booty was cracking me up so I had to snap a shot of it.

A couple shots from my phone...

Her little feet and ankles were too cute to pass up as well.

Ellary's afternoon wardrobe change came along with as much attitude.  If you can't already tell.  ;o)

On this day in 2007...

More fun in Cancun.  This shot of Ellary just kills me.

April 15, 2011

Tonight's blog is being thwarted by tornado warnings.  I started the blog earlier today, but at this rate I am never going to make it to my computer tonight to finish.  As a result,  tonight's blog will be posted on my phone and from the basement.

Shila was fast asleep and Ellary had just fallen asleep when the tornado warnings went off tonight.  I had to grab Shila and wake up Ellary to head to the basement...  don't forget,we sleep on the second floor.   After the warning had passed, we headed back upstairs, and as soon as I get the girls back in bed the sirens went off again.  Back to the basement we go.  I made the decision this time to hang out until I know this storm is over. I can't do those stairs again! The girls are now both sleeping and I am not sure what I am going to do to get them upstairs when the storm finally passes.  I guess I will have to wake them because there is no way I can carry them both back to bed. The last thing I need to do at this point is go into labor.  LOL.  Don't worry I am kidding. Things will be fine.

I will close with this note...  I hope my loving husband is having the time of his life on his boy's trip in Florida.  He is playing tennis right now and has no idea what my night has consisted of.  ;o)

The first photo is of Ellary during our first trip to the basement.  She is clearly thrilled that I am taking her picture.  The second photo is of trip number two.

Have a good night and DON'T worry,  we are totally fine.  Writing this post actually makes me laugh.

*POST UPDATE

Here are the pictures I was going to post yesterday.

This is a picture that Ellary took of Shila.

And one Shila took of Ellary.

On this day in 2007...

An evening on the beach in Cancun.  That white sand and blue water is calling to me.

On this day in 2009...

This is a picture that Ellary took of Shila having a snack.

Tornado update:

I had noticed on the radar that the end of the storm looked worse than the beginning so we just decided to spend the night in the basement.  The last tornado warning was at 2:30 a.m. so I am glad that we did.  We heading back upstairs around 4:30 a.m. and all in all I only got about 3/3.5 hours of sleep.  Everything ended up fine, but this evening I am exhausted.

April 14, 2011

Shila and I had a pretty mellow morning, then... we met friends for lunch, rushed home to meet Ellary and pack up for tennis, get our taxes from the accountant (I know, I know, last minute) and rush to the park for tennis.  On the drive to the park I thought, shoot I forgot my camera, never realizing that what we really needed, the TENNIS RACQUET, was still at home.  So again we rushed back home, got the racquet and then back to the park for class.  Deep breath.  Today was Ellary's last class for this session.  Her next session starts May 5th.  As far as the camera goes, they were on a far court so I couldn't have really gotten her picture anyway.  Here are a few shots from my cell phone of the kids entertaining themselves during Tanner's tennis lesson.

On a side note, I have been trying to relax as much as possible (I am sure you can tell by my afternoon) because I have been having contractions pretty much anytime I move.  They are not anything serious, but they are annoying.  My midwife said to stay hydrated and rest as much as possible.  She isn't too worried about me going into early labor, but if I did this week they would give me a shot in the leg to stop it.  She also said if it happens after this week, they will just let me go.  Holy!!!  Am I that close already??  I better come up with a name quick.  Please email me any and all suggestions.  I'm getting desperate here!  Anyway, the rest has been helping because they have mellowed out a bit.  I could be cursing to have this baby come 5-6 weeks from now.

On this day in 2007...

We arrived in Cancun for a vacation with our friends the McEuins.

On this day in 2009...

April 13, 2011

Today we received a package from my good friend Wendy.  Seriously, she is one of the best package senders ever.  She always adds a variety of stuff and there is always something for everyone.  Shila was very excited to open the package and even more excited by the treats inside.  She insisted on bringing a few things in the shopping cart to meet Ellary at the bus because "Sissy is so excited to see this."

Opening the package.  Thanks again Wendy!!

On our way to the bus.

Shila was right, Ellary was very excited to see the goods.

Last night I was able to sneak in a girls dinner with my friends before Adam heads out of town for a boy's trip.  We had dinner at The Melting Pot.  Yum!  I hadn't been in ages.  Anyway, Adam and the girls made chocolate ice cream while I was gone and because they had to let the ice cream freeze over night they were itching to eat it when Ellary got home from school. They also added some sprinkles from the package Wendy sent.

I hadn't even turned my back before they started in with these antics.  What do I expect after chocolate ice cream with sprinkles??

Apparently April 13th is a slow day for us because I couldn't find one picture from the past to post.

Instead, in honor of Wendy, here is a picture from when she visited us.

April 12, 2011

Today was a pretty mellow day.  Shila and I went to a Le Leche League meeting that my good friends Molly and Lluvia were leading, then we came home to meet Ellary at the bus.  The girls and I went out to the backyard to check out some storm damage from the thunderstorm we had the night before.  A tree from the property behind ours had fallen into our backyard.  It wasn't anything too major, but looks like Adam will get a little testosterone time with a chainsaw.  In reality, I am the one in this relationship with the chainsaw experience (7 years on a fire crew) so I should probably be the one out there...  Well, if it weren't for this baby I happen to be growing, maybe I would be.  ;o)

We came across a bunny in the backyard.  He stood still as could be hoping he hadn't been spotted, but as soon as the girls started walking toward him he hopped away.

I never get tired of the view in my backyard.

Adding her loot to the collection vase.

Happy Birthday Laura!!

Today is the birthday of one of my dearest friends, Laura Featherstone.  It's hard to know where to begin when describing my friendship with Laura.  She is like a soul sister.  A person who came into my life for a reason and who has had more influence that I can express.  On one hand there are so many things about us that are different, but on the other hand we can relate to each other like no one else I have ever met.  Laura, thank you for always being such a dear friend.  Thank you for helping me open myself up and grow so much through my 20s.  Thank you for being you!

Laura and I sometime within the first couple years we met.

Heading out for a night on the town.
