On Wednesday I will be a full 37 weeks.  I have been feeling more and more progress everyday and I'm really beginning to wonder just how much longer I'm going to make it.  I'll have my midwife check me again on Wednesday to see where I am... Adam's plans to be away for work just might have to change. 

Ellary had a birthday party to attend today at Farmhouse in the City.  I have been wanting to take the girls there, so I was eager to check it out.

Today the girls and I went to Adam's office for a baby shower.  I couldn't believe what a spread they put out for us and how many cute little outfits we got.  It was really sweet of everyone to put forth so much effort.

After the shower the girls and I went to get pedicures.  What a treat!!

Later Ellary dressed up like Justin Bieber and walked around pretending to drink coffee.  She also put on a concert for Shila in the playroom. I couldn't believe how well she knew the words to all her favorite songs.  She was irritated because she couldn't find her gray hoodie sweatshirt and she had to wear her t-shirt backwards so that the design on the front didn't show.  I try to tell her she can have some flexibility in what Justin wears because he too changes clothes.

I had an appointment with my midwife this morning and when she checked me I was 2 cm, 50% effaced and she could feel the baby's head.  We are getting closer!!  The midwife said she expects to see me at my appointment next week, but beyond that she isn't sure I will make it much farther.  I am sure I made some more progress today because I had a number of fairly sharp contractions.

After my appointment, Shila and I spent the rest of the afternoon running around.  When it was time to meet Ellary at the bus, she insisted on me pushing her in the stroller.  She really just wanted a nap.

Ellary started back to tennis today.  She did an excellent job and I even had a mom come up to me and comment on what a good player she was.  The coach was impressed too because he kept calling on her and commenting on her shots.

Tonight we finally celebrated Taryn's birthday.  Taryn's mom was out of town so we all met at her house and brought in Mexican food.  It was nice to have dinner and be able to relax at the house with no interruptions.  Ellary and Shila had a fun evening with Dad.

Today Shila and I joined Ellary's class on a field trip to the Georgia Aquarium.  We had a great time and were exhausted by the end of it.

This morning Shila and I went to the mall for story time and a carousel ride.

After the mall we came home and Taryn watched the girls so I could go get my hair cut and colored.  I have really been looking forward to having my hair done because it's been FOREVER and the gray has taken over.  Well, unfortunately, I HATE it.  First of all he cut about 9+ inches off my hair today and he was only supposed to cut about 4-5.  Secondly, I hated the style it ended up in.  I did try to have him fix it, but it wasn't really going anywhere so I decided to make him quite before it got worse.  Seriously, the first cut made me look like an old lady.  It was stiff and not at all me.  This look is better than it was, but it wasn't at all what I asked for.  (The ridiculous part of this is that I brought in a picture of me with a cut that I wanted again and he obviously completely ignored it)  Lastly, I am not happy with the color.  You can't tell by this picture, but it's too brassy and the gray is still EVERYWHERE!  I know gray is hard to cover, but I think he could have done a better job.  I can live with this cut, it's fine, and it isn't like I haven't had it this short and even shorter before, but that isn't the point.  BTW, it was pulled back in a ponytail before this picture so it will look a little better when I actually fix it.  ;o)

The aftermath of a 3 year old meltdown.  She was obviously overtired because she fell asleep before 5:00 p.m. and is still out at 10:30 p.m.  I can only hope she makes it through the night.

Happy Birthday Sophanine!!

Sophanine has been a best friend to me since 7th grade.  I made her a photo album as a gift a few years ago so I have a ton of pictures on my computer to post of her.  Sophanine is a beautiful, caring, wonderful person and I am so lucky to have met her clear back in 7th grade.  We have taken so many trips, shared a multitude of life experiences and spent countless hours together.  Now that I have moved across the country it is harder to keep in touch, but our friendship hasn't faded and every time we talk it's like no time has passed between us.  Her friendship is one that I will truly cherish for a lifetime.
